Made with homegrown Medlars, this unique fruit is made in small batches to make this rich, fruity jelly which is wonderful with cheese and meats. Alternatively use it as a glaze for roasted meats, as a topping for cheesecake or ice cream. Limited stock. Vegan.

Believed to have originated in ancient Persia (Iran), Medlar was highly valued for it’s medicinal properties. Introduced to the UK by the Romans, it was considered a luxury fruit. We understand this as we have been growing them for nearly 10 years now and have only just started to reap the rewards of the tree’s fruit. The fruit has a sweet and distinctive flavour, a kind of mix of apple and pear.
